Statement of Faith Addition

I recently added a point in the Statement of Faith that is
long overdue. It tackles all other religious worldviews and why Christians
should not mix their Christianity with any other religion. Sadly, in today’s
culture, many people readily pick and choose various things from different religions
and simply mix or “syncretize” them together.
We need to get back to God’s Word as the sole basis for our
faith. Here is the wording for the point in the Statement of Faith:
God’s revealed and authoritative
Word is the only basis for true religion (i.e., Biblical Christianity); all
non-biblical religions are false (e.g., Hinduism, humanism, Buddhism, paganism,
atheism, secular humanism, Wicca/witchcraft, etc.) and all religions that (1.)
add to or (2.) take away from the 66 books of the Bible (e.g., Islam, Jehovah's Witnesses,
Mormons, Judaism, etc.) or (3) reinterprets clear teachings of the Bible due to
outside beliefs (i.e., eisegesis) are false. Any syncretism (i.e., mixing) of
Biblical Christianity with any other religion is false (including secular
religions like humanism, naturalism, evolutionism, veganism, sexual humanism,
environmentalism, etc.). (Exodus 20:3-6; Deuteronomy 12:29-32, 13:1-3, 18:9-14;
2 Kings 17:33-41; Matthew 7:15-20; John 14:6, 15; Acts 4:12; Romans 16:17; 2
Corinthians 11:13-15; Galatians 1:6-9; Ephesians 4:4-14; 1 Thessalonians
5:20-22; 1 Timothy 4:1-5; 2 Timothy 4:3-4; Hebrews 9:27; 2 Peter 2:1; 1 John
2:22-23, 4:1-3, 5:11-12; Revelation 22:18-19)
